How to use a coffee plunger
Simple steps on how to best use a coffee plunger:
- Start by adding freshly roasted, coarsely ground coffee beans- recommended 1 heaped teaspoon per cup, adjust to taste- to the plunger
- Add boiled water that’s had a chance to settle for a minute or so, ensuring it’s not too hot so as to burn the coffee and stir
- Place the plunger lid with the attached filter on top of the plunger, but do not press it down yet
- Allow the coffee to steep for 4-5 minutes so the flavours can fully develop
- Once ready, slowly push down the plunger using gentle and steady pressure to avoid spills and keep the coffee grounds separated
- Immediately pour the coffee into cups to prevent over-extraction
