I bought the Bodum electric milk frother based on this review. It arrived yesterday and I used it for the first time today. Very disappointed with it.
Firstly, it didn’t froth the milk. It’s true I didn’t use barista cow’s milk. I can’t buy barista cow’s milk in my city. I haven’t seen barista cow’s milk anywhere in Newcastle for years now – except for places with actual baristas making coffee. I’d read jersey cow’s milk will work because it has a higher fat content, so that’s what I used and the Bodum didn’t froth it. At all.
Secondly, it only heats the milk to warm – 65 degrees. That might have been ok if it actually frothed the milk, but it didn’t.
I’ll be returning mine and purchasing a manual frother instead- probably not the Bodum after this.
